Tree of Life Movie Review

My man took me to see this movie in Chicago yesterday. I didn't know what to expect except that there was some good reviews on it.  I thought it was okay.  It did have lots and lots of beautiful images of life, the earth, the universe.  I thought the scene with the dinosaurs was silly although I do understand why they put it in there.  It is thought provoking.

The story line shows the life of a family in the 1950's -the innocent childhood of the boys growing up learning the discoveries of life experiences, emotions, their parental authority, arguments... and death.  Stuff we have all gone through and experienced ourselves.  Men will relate more to this movie -the stuff boys do when their young like torturing animals.

I do recommend it but make sure you are well rested because there is lots to see.  You may or may not like it but if you are a nature lover you will like the scenes in this movie like I did.

Tree of Life

Olive Tree of Vouves

The Tree of Life...
The branches reach out to the heavens
and its roots are buried
deep into mother earth.
The great tree is a symbol of life, love,
strength, wisdom and encouragement.

Death Cab for Cutie’s song Meet me at the Equinox…
A window
An opened tomb
The sun crawls
Across your bedroom
A halo
A waiting room
Your last breaths
Moving through you
As everything, everything ends...
Everything, everything, everything ends

Methuselah
"The affinities of all the beings of the same class have sometimes been represented by a great tree...
As buds give rise by growth to fresh buds, and these if vigorous, branch out and overtop on all sides many a feebler branch, so by generation I believe it has been with the great Tree of Life, which fills its dead and broken branches the crust of the earth, and covers the surface with its ever branching and beautiful ramifications."
-Charles Darwin,  1859.
